Interesting to note that the new product rep. for cycleops trainers has put zero minutes on hers since the picture was taken . Her total time logged to date remains at 12 minutes. That's advertising for ya'.

I'm really surprised I haven't been dropped from a bunch of link lists as lame as this blog has been lately. Sorry and thanks.
Truth is, I aint got nuthin' these days.
Yeah....I have been doing some riding and am still getting to the "Y" a couple times a week for swimming and pump class. It would be cool to keep up the pump class once a week or so and swim a couple days before work, but I just don't know if I'm that motivated. You know how it is when the weather gets right and you can find cycling "good times" with the local schmucks just about every night of the week.

I've had the Rockhound out for a few short rides and I think it's going to be a great bike for me (It may just stay in one piece too), but lately I've been thinking about doing the singlespeed class in WORS..........How screwed up is that??? However with 24/9, Ore to Shore, a few WEMS races and hopefully Chequamegon on the radar, I should have plenty of opportunities to ride the Gunnar.

I hope to get down to Parkside Sunday for the races. I have been told to try the Masters 40+ instead of the 4-5 race, but I don't know if I can get there that early.
Bubba and Masters.........Two words not used together very often, but it does have a nice ring to it. If you get spit out the back...are you still a Master???

MAIDEN VOYAGE.....................................

I took the "Graped Ape" out for it's first little ride tonight. Pretty damn nice.

I'm gonna' get my ass handed to me in style this season.

Before I went on my ride I took a walk on the "Bubba trail" with these two. The river is high and mooovin'. We observed something I've never seen in 43 years of living on the river. Giant chunks of ice busting loose and floating down the river. They were making loud crashing sounds as they broke loose and when they hit rocks and fallen trees in the river. One piece got stood up on end and was about 12 feet tall. We must have just been in the right place at the right time. Awesome sight. I had to keep Jack-shit from jumping in and taking a rocket ride to Jones Island.

LIVING UP TO HIS NAME....GUSTO IS REALLY GETTING MOTIVATED................................

After taking Gus for an exam, the vet confirmed our hunch....he's older than dirt. She said 12 yrs old was a good guess. She also found him to have pretty bad ear infections in both ears, and very "old man" hips and joints......but no cataracts and his teeth are actually pretty nice for a dog his age. She also said his lack of muscle tone indicates that he may have been owned by someone elderly that could not or just did not exercise him. However, as is the case with strays, you just don't really know their story. This guy swears that with the name Gus, he belongs to some old polish dude on the south side who's gonna' want him back as soon as I dump a few hundred bucks on his health care.

BUT GUS IS ON THE REBOUND........................
I have been aggressively treating the ear infections and they are clearing up real nice. We've got him on some supplements for joint health, and our vet gave us some samples of arthritis meds to get things moving along a little quicker. He's looking better every day.

With all the attention being paid to Gusto, Jack is feeling a little "left out of the loop", but he's being a good sport. This is the look I've been getting lately. Pretty pathetic. I keep telling him things will be back to normal soon.

GUS'S LAST HURRAH......................

Yup.....Gusto is going to finish his "stretch" on this piece of spinning dirt at Casa de Bubba. We adopted him from HAWS and brought him home today. He was found as a stray and was not claimed. Gus is O.L.D. old. They guess around 12, but I would say he's closer to my age. He had to have been a great friend to someone for a long time, but nobody came callin' for him. They tell us there many reasons why people would abandon an old dog with his best years far behind him, but whatever the reason...... Gus got screwed bigtime. So we will just spoil the shit out of him for whatever time he has left (hopefully more...maybe less).

Jack seems really cool with the whole thing, but I'm sure that's in part because he doesn't have to worry about losing any foot-races to a fresh stack of cat crap in the litter box. Hell....he might even share.

How cool would it be to blast around on one of these this weekend?

I think they are a bit pricy, and I wonder how much use you would really get out of it.

So, he finds the glasses I busted last Saturday, throws some dye in his mop, and gets a part-time job at Copps serving burgers and thinks he's under cover.

I wouldn't mind a new Waterford either, but geeez...........

So next time you go to Copps for a sundae or bannana split, look him up. I'd do it myself, but I've been hitting Coldstone hard lately......really hard.

Last week when Russell busted his sheeeet on that low branch I remember saying to myself " I better take that down before somebody important gets hurt" Well....I forgot and sure enough, somebody important got hurt. Me.

No, I didn't break any teeth like he did, but that is most likely because my mouth was closed when I hit it. I do have a pretty stiff neck though. It hurts to even eat, but you can bet I'll find a way.
I plan to treat my stiff neck the same as I treat a stiff.....................Ya know, It kinda sucks that my kids and some of their friends read this lame blog. You would think they have better things to do.

Things are really boring lately. Bored at work, bored at home, even bored reading blogs. No offense, and all due respect, but it's just a bad time of year to have a blog with a spin on cycling unless you do BMX.

I've always been a fan of Iggy Pop. In 1977 The Idiot Tour was launched with (remember who??) on keyboards. I was 13 years old and thought Rock and Roll had hit it's pinacle. They actually played the Oriental Theater in 77. I was not in attendance.............drag.

Speaking of lame.....Did you ever go back and re-read your blog??? Rarely does one put together a string of good posts. There are always lame ones mixed in to keep to keep a guy (or gal) humble. I thought I had a pretty good September 2006, but turns out it wasn't even really that good.
