O2S......... A NICE WEEKEND

What better way to start a long weekend road trip than spending a few hours riding a fairy. This was a first for the Bubbster. Coop said it was for him too, but he was sure actin' like he had been on one before.

The ferry dumped us in Muskegon and we were off to the races.....so to speak.

Drove up the other side of Lake Michigan through all the nifty resort/tourist towns . Spent Thursday night in Traverse City and took nice MTB ride on the VASA trail.

And then up to Mackinaw City.......

And the Mackinac Bridge. Seeing and driving over the bridge was also a first for me....I guess about 150 million people beat me to it.

Got a nice photo of the newlyweds..When you're married for 13 weeks you take nice pictures at famous places so you can remember them for years to come...

When you've been married 13 years, I guess you pretend you're a canine and your wife is a fire hydrant.
Well, maybe not you.....but I'm a complete moron. DON'T ARGUE WITH ME...I am.

Once in da UP der hey we stopped at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the Grand Sable Dunes for some sightseeing before heading over to Marquette and the Ore to Shore.

Got well-wishes from my friend Ron, so I stopped in for a triple thick shake.

The race was pretty fun...pretty hard...and really sandy. I guess that's my time over my left shoulder. I did not light the world on fire, but there were plenty of people behind me.

Coooop was not behind me however. He had a real nice race.

Coop and I were the finalists in the Alice Cooper look alike contest. They gave him the win.....I got robbed....the common last name thing and all.

Yup, I was behind you. I was on Coop's wheel until I ran off the trail and visited some brush. Then I came upon a down rider before the second aid station and I decided to stay with him until help arrived. He was not looking well. Then after Misery Hill I helped a guy out with a flat. He needed an air pump so I stopped and let him use mine. I came in at 4:48. It was WAY too damn sandy for my tastes. Sorry I wasn't able to keep up to your wheel and rip on you at the 20 mile mark. Maybe next year or at the Cheq 40 or Iceman if you are going.
