CHILLIN' MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND............................

Spent Sunday at Frank's beach house in Oostburg. Look familiar Sheboyganeer's?? Yes..It's on the route of your winter beach ride. I am going to join you guys next winter for one for sure. Maybe drag Russell and Coop with me. I understand breakfast is an added bonus on this ride so I probably won't need to twist any arms.

Anyway, Frank is a high-falootin' corporate attorney for a multi-national company based in St Louis. He works down there but gets to spend about 3 days a week at his beach house here. Having access to a corporate jet makes this type of living possible. When I grow up, I want to be Frank. Frankly, Frank does not act very grown up though. This fire on the beach wound up getting a bit out of hand due to his pyro-tendancies. He has also perfected the art of drinking scotch while jet-skiing.
But you know Bubba had everything under control.

SATURDAY........WEMS..........

Some pics from the first WEMS race.
Props to Brittany and crew for a very well done event and good times. Congrats to Meg, Ron and the other winners.
There was poison ivy everywhere. I glad I kept him at home. He usually waits until July or August before giving me a good case of it.

SO MUCH FOR MY DIET......................

What's with all the frickin' gnats?? I think I've eaten 6 pounds of 'em in the last week.

I had a pretty good race at Lake Geneva Sunday. I killed the singletrack, and the climbs killed me. So we were even.

I did the Wednesday night races at Crystal Ridge. I had a pretty good start, but before I had the chance to blow up I took a wrong turn and did about 3 minutes of extra credit on my first lap. It was a good ride all-in-all.

With all the dumping going on over there, some new re-routes have been done to compensate. It is a work in progress, but the new stuff all seems pretty nifty.

Pressed for time, and rain threatening, I decided to blow off the beatdown last night. I noticed this guy had a ride posted for the Tosa trails billed as a "moderate pace-tempo" ride. Bender was there as well as a few second level fast guys. Let's just say that their easy ride is my Super-Bowl......and I lost. After about 1:45 of that nonsense I had the equivelent of 3 sport races in 5 days. I feel pretty good. My new "nice bike from Gunnar" is a champ........I am not.

I'm hoping to do a 3 hour solo at the WEMS race Saturday. I think I need to get used to riding for 3 hours because that's about how long I'll be out there if I decide to move up to Comp.

Congrats to COOOOOOOOOOOP. My sympathies to Anne.

THANKS CARLOS..................................

Alterra fast guy #2 sent me this photo he took at Iola. He said he had to turn up the shutter speed on his camera to get a clear picture 'cause I was HAAAAULLLLIN'. If you look behind me, I even put the hurt on Bender...............O.K. it was his dad, but it sounded good.

LESSON LEARNED..............................

Why is Bubba lined up almost dead last in a wave of near 60 riders???

That's because Bubba is STOOOOOPID........

Takin' his game overseas to the SSWC..............I gave him some beer money.

Takin' his game to a new level....................I need to buy him a beer.

3 overall womens sport and recently turned 21. She should really ride her bike more.....and have a beer.

Let him eat fer' cryin' out load.

Coooooooooooooooooooop don't do beer. He has a low tolerance for stupidity.....Who'd-a-thunk judging by the crowd he hangs with.

NICE TIME.....................RASTA RALLY

Pictured above is Extreme's own John Senkerik, my cousin Amy, Uncle Eddie, Myself (I was looking away at some chick who kept whistling at me) Amy's boyfriend Terry, the 2 tax advantages, and Extreme's own Rick Walls.

We headed up to Hodag country Saturday afternoon to preride and I was second guessing the rigid SS bike choice right away. The course was fine for singlespeeding, but the absence of any suspension had me taking a real ass pounding. I knew by Sunday afternoon, I would be feeling like the newest inmate in the prison.
I should point out that my whining will garner no sympathy from the other 3 SS'ers in the field who were all riding rigid bikes as well. Oh well......enough about me.

Jamie kicked off her birthday celebration by taking 2nd overall in the womens race.Happy birthday Jamie. She should ride her bike more.

Amy was looking good and havin' fun.

Rough day for Meg, but better days will be had. Had to be the socks. Pay-up sucka.

Rick was haaaaaaaaulin' for 2nd in SS.

It hurt pretty good..........but I'm a man. Just not "The Man".

Thanks to Terry and Amy for the great food and hospitality. These trails are a blast....worth squeezing in some extra time to ride them when you're up for the WORS race. Out...........

NAPPY-HEADED SHMOE.................................

I believe Randy Moss is going to be a Green Bay Packer. Possibly as soon as this weekend, but by the start of the season for sure.
Randy Moss(with his nappy-head screwed on straight) is still about as good as it gets at wide receiver, but it seems that many packer fans just can get around the "simulated mooning" incident of a few years ago.
Packer fans are funny.....on one hand they want a chance to get to the super bowl, but seem to want their players to all be well-spoken, polite, model citizens.
Good luck finding 53 of those.

MULTI-TASKING....................................

I'm trying to formulate a plan to get all my house and yard work handled and still log some much needed saddle time. Chances are, I will be neglecting some yard work again this summer.

Headed to The Rasta Rally this weekend with this creep, this creep, and this clown. It should be a gas. My cousin's boyfriend and his much better half are a couple of the locals responsible for improving these trails over the last few years. They say the course is in great shape right now and is about as technical as it possibly could be.

I think everybody at Casa de Bubba is ready to go, but it is the first race of a long year. Who knows what to expect.

I did get a nice trail ride in with Meg on Sunday at the Kettles and thought we rode pretty well. We rode about 20-25 miles or so. It was pretty hot and I ran out of water and got the cramps.

I like the cramps.....Meg does not.

WAY TO GO DON..............................

As a result of the Imus fiasco, there will only be 49 contestants in the 2007 Miss Black America Contest . No one wants to wear the sash that says IDAHO !

RACE READY....................................

Well.....The visits to the "Y" are decreasing and the miles are slowly increasing. I've got a nice new bike from Gunnar that should have my competetion dropping their shit and quitting before the race even starts. I've got a set of Bubba Beaters in the correct wheel size. New kit. Hell.....I've even got myself down to a nimble 234 lbs.

I plan to kick things off in the land of HODAG on the 29th.

Rest assured....I still suck...although hopefully slightly less than last season.

GET A LEG UP....................................................................

Word is out that you can get a leg up on yours truly by securing a set of "Bubba Beaters" from this clown. He's setting up many of the clydes with these beauties in a variety of colors and options.

First of all, I can only think of one person that would buy something simply because it claims it will help you beat Bubba. He's already got all the good shit and all it does is make his bike lighter and look nicer when it's being pushed.

If you need new wheels....fine ...I'm sure they are great, but just show up and your chances of throwing me in the hurt locker are pretty darn good.

I will say this...If these Bubba Beaters keep flying off the shelves, I think somebody's gonna have to kick up a few points.

MY VIEW...............................................

I don't really have any problem with people attracted to people who's junk matches theirs. Heck...I'm sure I have freinds who are homosexual (no proof-just guessing). Some gay guys are downright hillarious.
I'm just really, REALLY glad I'm not one of them.

Replace gays above with accountants, and you have my view on accountants as well. Now....If you're a gay accountant, you might just be pushin' your luck with the Bubbster a little bit.

I think she is an accountant. I mean she's always counting money.

Anyone who thinks I deserve an ass-whoopin' for posting this.......Rest assured I'll get one but good at the Beatdown tomorrow night(weather permitting of course).

I DON'T KNOW.............WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE YOUR LAME-ASS BLOG?

I'm going to do this.

These trails are awesome... I'd bet you will get to see alot more of them doing this than you will at the WORS race.

Who's in??

BE CAREFUL OF THESE GUYS....................................

Some jack-ass in one of these almost sent COOOOOOOOOOOP and I off the road , rolling onto someones front lawn last night. Luckily, these two attentive clydes were onto to his game way before he made his move. Coop said "I know Lamont ain't paying attention" and I answered " No kidding...his passenger side rear view mirror is probably somewhere under that pile of shit in the bed."

Rest assured, we weren't gonna let some junk man keep us from updating two of the freshest and most interesting blogs around.

PUSHING BUTTONS......................................

A conversation...

Bubba: Hey Julie..There's some wacky stuff on the blogs lately.

Julie: You mean you guys are bored again.

Bubba: No really............check this out.

Julie:(after reading about 2 minutes of political and religious banter) Give me a break....Those blogs are much more entertaining when everybody's making fun of each other and especially when they're making fun of you. Now move and let me check the e-mail quick..I'm tired.

Julie: Here you go.. and try not to fall asleep in front of the computer screen again.

In other news.....

This creep got her temps. last night and will be driving a car in the near future.

God help us all.....................................................oops.

Interesting to note that the new product rep. for cycleops trainers has put zero minutes on hers since the picture was taken . Her total time logged to date remains at 12 minutes. That's advertising for ya'.

CHEQUAMEGON......................................

I'm in.............The check cleared.

I think I have a good chance of cracking the top 800 this year. Go Bubba!!

GARBAGE IN.......GARBAGE OUT.................

I'm really surprised I haven't been dropped from a bunch of link lists as lame as this blog has been lately. Sorry and thanks.
Truth is, I aint got nuthin' these days.
Yeah....I have been doing some riding and am still getting to the "Y" a couple times a week for swimming and pump class. It would be cool to keep up the pump class once a week or so and swim a couple days before work, but I just don't know if I'm that motivated. You know how it is when the weather gets right and you can find cycling "good times" with the local schmucks just about every night of the week.

I've had the Rockhound out for a few short rides and I think it's going to be a great bike for me (It may just stay in one piece too), but lately I've been thinking about doing the singlespeed class in WORS..........How screwed up is that??? However with 24/9, Ore to Shore, a few WEMS races and hopefully Chequamegon on the radar, I should have plenty of opportunities to ride the Gunnar.

I hope to get down to Parkside Sunday for the races. I have been told to try the Masters 40+ instead of the 4-5 race, but I don't know if I can get there that early.
Bubba and Masters.........Two words not used together very often, but it does have a nice ring to it. If you get spit out the back...are you still a Master???

ANYBODY SEEN MY KID???...........

I let my kid go bike racing with him?? I must have been liquored up.

MAIDEN VOYAGE.....................................

I took the "Graped Ape" out for it's first little ride tonight. Pretty damn nice.

I'm gonna' get my ass handed to me in style this season.

Before I went on my ride I took a walk on the "Bubba trail" with these two. The river is high and mooovin'. We observed something I've never seen in 43 years of living on the river. Giant chunks of ice busting loose and floating down the river. They were making loud crashing sounds as they broke loose and when they hit rocks and fallen trees in the river. One piece got stood up on end and was about 12 feet tall. We must have just been in the right place at the right time. Awesome sight. I had to keep Jack-shit from jumping in and taking a rocket ride to Jones Island.

LIVING UP TO HIS NAME....GUSTO IS REALLY GETTING MOTIVATED................................

After taking Gus for an exam, the vet confirmed our hunch....he's older than dirt. She said 12 yrs old was a good guess. She also found him to have pretty bad ear infections in both ears, and very "old man" hips and joints......but no cataracts and his teeth are actually pretty nice for a dog his age. She also said his lack of muscle tone indicates that he may have been owned by someone elderly that could not or just did not exercise him. However, as is the case with strays, you just don't really know their story. This guy swears that with the name Gus, he belongs to some old polish dude on the south side who's gonna' want him back as soon as I dump a few hundred bucks on his health care.

BUT GUS IS ON THE REBOUND........................
I have been aggressively treating the ear infections and they are clearing up real nice. We've got him on some supplements for joint health, and our vet gave us some samples of arthritis meds to get things moving along a little quicker. He's looking better every day.

With all the attention being paid to Gusto, Jack is feeling a little "left out of the loop", but he's being a good sport. This is the look I've been getting lately. Pretty pathetic. I keep telling him things will be back to normal soon.
